New hypothesis suggests that at high energies time separates from space; Einstien came up with the concept of spacetime as an integerated whole.

If true it sems to fix a number of things; gravity works at the sub-atomic level, and there is no longer a need for Dark Matter as it is just an illusion crated by graviton fluctuations interacting with “normal” matter.

Cool, but a long way to go before the hypothesis is refined and confirmed.

Sometimes it just feels so right

Today I am in a hotel in Maastricht. The Beaumont to be precise.

It’s a nice and modern hotel. Nice and laid-back modern design and ambiance. The reception even upgraded my room type.

So I am sitting at my little desk working for tomorrows meeting and playing around in iTunes. I realize another guest has his music library shared and I tumbl on Bebel Gilberto’s Tanto Tempo, which just fits Perfectly (Captial P) to my mood and ambiance of the hotel.

Arno Peters promoted his map as a superior alternative to the Mercator projection, which was suited to navigation but also used commonly in world maps. The Mercator projection increasingly inflates the sizes of regions according to their distance from the equator. This inflation results, for example, in a representation of Greenland that is larger than Africa, whereas in reality Africa is 14 times as large. Since much of the technologically underdeveloped world lies near the equator, these countries appear smaller on a Mercator, and therefore, according to Peters, seem less significant.

On Peters’s projection, by contrast, areas of equal size on the globe are also equally sized on the map. By using his “new” projection, poorer, less powerful nations could be restored to their rightful proportions. This reasoning has been picked up by many educational and religious bodies, leading to adoption of the Gall-Peters projection among some socially concerned groups.

Oh, memories. A loooong time ago, I was at a party and this album was played. I only remember “blister in the sun”. I fell in love with a girl at that party, so bad, and so fast and for such a brief time. Will always remember…
